ABOUT
Hello! Thanks for visiting my site.
I grew up in the Southwest in Arizona in an adventurous and loving family of 9. My dad took us everywhere on horseback, hiking, and road-tripping, and my grandparents ran an outdoor adventure guiding company, doing lots of rafting in the Grand Canyon. Needless to say, we were always doing things but in the down time I always had my paints with me.
I was homeschooled (more time to paint!), and went on to study humanities and mathematics at Ave Maria University. After that I graduated from the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture with my masters. In undergrad, I was exposed to the history of ideas and in graduate school I got to see those ideas reflected in architecture. I traveled to many countries and studied the height of tradition in building and design. Now I currently work in classical architecture at Harrison Design in Southern California. During school I got to intern with Duncan G. Stroik Architect, who renders everything by hand. I think that working with your hands is good for your brain and that maybe we have a little too much tech in our lives. I love art and design for this reason and am always attempting new domestic arts.
I bring my paints everywhere and am always trying to sketch the adventure. The outdoors bring me so much joy, and painting is a way I can capture the moment and bring it home, whether its underwater, on top of mountains, or inside great buildings. This site came about because friends wanted to take my watercolors home. If you’re still reading, thanks for visiting. I hope you find some inspiration here.
